Tri-Cities Compete Streets Workshop

Complete Streets Workshop

A Complete Streets Workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 7 from 9:30am – 2:30pm at the Ben Franklin Transit Administration Building, 1000 Columbia Park Trail in Richland. The Benton-Franklin Council of Governments in collaboration with the Washington State Departments of Health and Transportation, and the Transportation Improvement Board is hosting the workshop.

A Complete Streets approach to street design integrates people and place in the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of our transportation networks. This helps to ensure streets are safe for people of all ages and abilities, balance the needs of different modes, and support local land uses, economies, cultures, and natural environments.

Purposes of the workshop are to promote local/regional discussion on complete streets and to assist interested jurisdictions in development of a complete streets ordinance or policy. If you are interested in attending, please register by contacting Len Pavelka at: Lunch will be provided. Be sure to indicate if you prefer a vegetarian meal when you register.
